CLUB BOAT AND TRAILER HIRE

The Club boats available for hire are:-

a new Laser with a Radial rig

an old Laser with a Full rig

an Enterprise

at least one Topper

two Splashes

two Visions.

We also have a Splash road trailer and a double-stacker road trailer.

TERMS OF HIRE:

1) Club equipment can only be hired by Club members.

2) The club equipment is insured but the hirer will pay any excess resulting from an insurance claim against them.

3) All damage or any missing item not previously recorded is the responsibility of the hirer.

It is therefore important that any damage or missing items are recorded before going afloat.

4) Any lost or damaged items must be reported to the Bosun or a committee member.

5) The hirer may be asked to cover the cost of any repair or replacement.

6) All equipment must be returned to its proper storage location(s) at the end of the hire period.

* The Visions may only be hired by members who have demonstrated their competence to sail these boats.

Hire fees must be paid at the START of the hire period and recorded in the OoD Book.

NO PAY = NO PLAY

Forms for making advance bookings for the boats and trailers are kept in a blue ring-binder, usually located on or under the bar.

Note: Greyed-out boxes on the booking sheets denote that the equipment is not available for hire on that day.

BOOKING RULES:

1) Members must enter their name and contact telephone number(s) legibly on the booking sheet when booking an item of equipment.

2) In order to make boats available to the maximum number of members,

BLOCK BOOKINGS ARE NOT PERMITTED:

(a) A member may have an advance booking for only one session at any time; i.e. one Wednesday, one Saturday or one Sunday

(b) A member may not book the same boat or type of boat for consecutive weeks or consecutive days.

(An exception may be made for junior members wanting to take part in the YHYSA Travellers Series.)

3) A booking for multiple boats will be reduced to one boat on the day if the extra boats are required by another member.

4) If more than one member wants to book or use a boat, priority will be given to:

(1) New members without a boat,

(2) Members storing their own boats off site

and, in all cases racing over cruising on race days.
