Further Health, Safety and Public Order Precautions

Food

Food handlers who have suffered from diarrhoea and/or vomiting should be excluded from food handling for 48 hours after their symptoms have stopped.

The food preparation areas should be sprayed down with the sanitiser (Dettoc) prior to undertaking any food preparation.

Drink

Under new licensing arrangements that come into force in November 2005, the licensed area is defined as the clubhouse and its immediate surroundings.  Alcoholic drinks must not be taken beyond the slipway gates or into the boat yard.

Smoking

The clubhouse is a designated no-smoking area.  Those smoking outside are asked to do so with regard to the health and respect for the views of others.

Bathing

Attention is drawn to the RMBC Byelaws that prohibit recreational bathing in the reservoir and specify the penalties that may be applied.  Members should do nothing that appears to condone misbehaviour by others, and, in particular, parents and guardians should ensure that any children in their charge are discouraged from playing in the water.

Spillway

Ensure that you sail well clear of the new green boom that is across the new spillway.  This boom is constructed of solid plastic and will damage your boat.  You must not moor your boat to it nor climb on it, except in exceptional circumstances to prevent you from being swept over the spillway.

In severe weather conditions it may be necessary to curtail the sailing if the pull of the water flowing over the weir becomes excessive.  This is expected to only be during or following heavy rain.

The Front Gates off the Main Road

These gates will be closed to the public from time to time by the rangers.  This means that when we are at the club in late evening (mainly for Wednesday evening sailing and socialising events) the gate must remain closed.  This is for security purposes, so if you have forgotten the code please contact a member of the Committee.  Make sure the gate is shut and locked behind you when you leave.

Car Parking

Club stickers must be displayed.  If you need a replacement sticker they are on sale in the clubhouse.  You may get a parking ticket if it is not displayed!

Misbehaviour

RMBC have advised us that we should bring any incidents of gross misbehaviour in the Country Park, such as stone throwing, to the immediate attention of the Police on 999 and, if necessary, OoDs should call all boats ashore.
