Learn to Sail

Ulley Sailing Club are back on the water and we are already seeing a stream of new members wanting to learn to sail.  With this in mind we have put together some 'Sailing Experiences' to give prospective new members a taste of dinghy sailing.  These proved very popular in 2010 and more sessions will be arranged in 2011.

So don't delay - give us a call and get your name on the list for a Sailing Experience.

For Novices or Beginners

COME ON, GIVE IT A GO!

Sailing Experiences can be arranged for you and/or your family to come and try out sailing for yourselves.  You will be taken on the water after a short briefing and, following a familiarisation session, the instructor will hand the helm over to you and guide you through the various manoeuvres. When you are comfortable on the water, the boat will be yours for a while to practice your newfound skills under the watchful eye of the instructor.

Buoyancy aids are compulsory and will be provided, along with safety boat cover.  All you need to bring is some suitable warm clothing that you can wear out on the water and that you don’t mind getting wet.

These sessions are competitively priced at £5:00 for juniors/youth and £10:00 for an adult.  This will be deducted from your membership fees if you subsequently join the Club

Why not buy a Sailing Experience as a present for a loved one!

TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES FOR CLUB MEMBERS - 2010-11

Membership training sessions in previous years have been very successful.

Several Saturday afternoons have now been set aside for Club Training Sessions.  These sessions will be in the forthcoming 2011 season.  Both junior and adult club members will be welcome and the focus will be on anyone who wants to learn to sail, to improve their sailing skills or to get into racing.

These sessions are to be run by the members of Ulley Sailing Club on a totally voluntary basis.

All this is available to you as a USC member! The sessions will target individual aspects of sailing and help members to improve their skills and confidence on the water. Those attending regularly will be able to progress through the RYA syllabus.
