Enterprise

The Enterprise is a 13ft (about 4.2m) sailing dinghy designed by Jack Holt and over 20,000 are registered worldwide. It has exellent qualities both as a cruising and two-person racing boat.

It can be hard work in strong wonds but can be handled by almost anyone in the right weather conditions.

A large proportion of new boats are all fibreglass but there are composite boats for those who like wooden decks with out the fuss of fitting out a wooden hull and there are also wooden boats available. The enterprise can be built from a kit.

The Enterprise is an active and exciting boat to sail and is raced competitively almost everywhere. It attracts many high class helmsmen throughout the country and standards are high. Crew weight is not a crucial factor to success as is often the case with very light displacement boats and yet the Enterprise is light enough to be handled easily ashore.

Enterprises are also very seaworthy and can be sailed offshore with confidence.

Unlike many other sailing dinghies, the size, layout and stability of the Enterprise is such that it makes an ideal boat for family cruising.
